Acupuncture has been used as a medical treatment for over 2,000 years. The earliest texts that describe how to practice acupuncture are thought to have been compiled in Chinese Imperial libraries between 200 BC and 200 AD. All contemporary acupuncture traditions can trace their roots back to the medical text created at that time, called the “Huangdi Neijing”. Classical Acupuncture is based on this text and uses ancient science to understand and explain the complexity of the human organism within the context of the world we live in. Classical acupuncture is not protoc

ol medicine, but rather a sophisticated system that specifically diagnoses the individual and can successfully treat them.

Caroline Strassberg, LAc, uses Classical acupuncture techniques, cupping, moxibustion, and several forms of Eastern manual therapy and massage.

Caroline has done extensive study in the diagnosis and treatment of orthopedic issues and injuries. She treats many pain conditions due to injury, degeneration, auto-immune diseases, infectious diseases and congenital causes. Acupuncture is a safe form of pain management for women during pregnancy and Caroline is experienced in providing pain relief for expecting mothers.

Many of the pharmaceutical solutions to common health problems like headaches, al

lergies, back pain and insomnia, are not advisable during pregnancy. Acupuncture offers a holistic solution without the concern of side effects. Acupuncture can also help treat the health issues that arise due to pregnancy – nausea, varicose veins, insomnia, constipation, body pain and swollen limbs. Acupuncture in the last trimester can help relax and prepare the body for an easier birth.

Caroline is an out-of-network provider in most major insurance plans and can direct bill for acupuncture services.
